Thank God for another eventful day! This morning we travelled again to another high school called Boquig National High School.
There was a wider range of grades this time in comparison to yesterday — from grades 7 — 12. We could feel the energy of the students right when we got there.

Today we left early in the morning to do our first school visitation at Pugaro Integrated School. The program consisted of songs, games, testimonies, and a short message from Pastor Sonny.
There were 225 students (grades 9-12) that attended. To catch their attention we asked for volunteers to participate in a couple games that we prepared. They seemed to really enjoy them, and we had fun watching them play as well.
Today, the team visited a church in Pugaro, Dagupan City named Life Saving Christian Fellowship. Our church, by God’s grace, was able to extend some financial help in fixing an almost non-existent building as a place of worship for our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Island of Pugaro.
What we saw is a remnant of a nipa roof barely held by rotting bamboo poles. With God’s help and through the generosity of GBC, they are now able to build concrete floors, foundation for their walls and a new nipa roof. The hope is that this simple act will be a way for God’s grace to reach many more souls in the Island of Pugaro.

Our first full day on the mission field was spent as a “rest day”. After traveling for approximately 24 hours, we needed some time to regain our strength and our focus.
In the men’s house, some of us woke up at around 2 am. I woke up around 4 am… we are still on Canada time. We walked to the girls’ house at around 7 am and woke them up as well.
For breakfast, we had “pandesal” and “kutsinta” that we bought off street vendors. After breakfast, we headed to the local beach. The girls took a boat ride while the rest of us enjoyed the breeze and the view.
Tonight, the work begins! We need to organize the materials for the weekend’s youth conference as well as finalize the sermons and breakout sessions for the 700+ young people who will be attending the conference. The representatives of the youth band will also be practicing the songs they will sing at the conference tonight along with some young people from the local church.
Please continue to pray for the conference as well as the high school students we will be speaking to in the next couple of days. Pray that the power of God’s Word will work in the hearts of the young people here in Pangasinan.
